False Puppet is a three-piece rock band from Santa Barbara, CA made up of Tyler Benko (guitar, lead vocals) Brennan Benko (drums, percussion), and Channing Peake (bass, backing vocals).

 

After initially forming in 2008, the band gained a following in their hometown and quickly graduated from small, local gigs to high-profile opening slots and tours, most notably the Vans Warped Tour in 2015, which would be their last for several years. During their hiatus the members explored other projects, acquiring even more national and international touring experience as session musicians for other bands/artists.

 

It wasn’t until 2019 when the 3 found themselves all living back in Santa Barbara that they decided to get the band back together and start a new chapter in the False Puppet story. Since then, they have re-emerged as a mainstay of the Santa Barbara music scene with hundreds of high-energy live performances and an ability to tackle a wide range of musical genres (often within a single song).
